ABOUT THE ARTIST
Dawn Lowndes creates unique and innovative installation works, that include painting, sculpture and videos. She is currently working on a novel. These psychospiritual works explore issues of transformation and identity. Her work asks the viewer to consider the deeper meaning of things. The content examines how humans relate to one another using installation, painting, printmaking, and technical media.
She was educated at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she received a Bachelors of Arts with Honors as a Major in Painting and Printmaking. She received her Masters of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking from Indiana University, Bloomington in 2006.
Lowndes is currently an independent visual artist living and working in Western North Carolina. In addition to her visual work she is currently working on a novel that investigates these same ideas.
